The Triratna Buddhist community for several years now has organised an international urban retreat to allow those unable to get to a retreat centre and others to experience some of the qualities and focus of residential retreats whilst being at home.
You can join the retreat online by logging onto and registering with the Buddhist Centre.com website. The programme of readings, led meditations, videos etc is laid out day by day and can be accessed at any time to allow flexibility. You do not have to follow it rigidly so it is up to you how much you feel able to or inspired to join in.
Wishing you well with any involvement you may have with this and would be good to hear of your experiences through the comments page on this news blog.
Click on the Join / Log In tab on the webisite and register.
You can change the frequency of notifications to get new posts immediately/daily/weekly/etc; under ‘my profile’ in the user menu (click your own name at the top right of any page).
If you are already a member of The Buddhist Centre Online and are logged in click ”+ follow” in the banner above. Then ‘confirm’ - and that’s it! We’ll send you email notifications when there is new content for the course.
Once you have joined the retreat you can also make posts of your own throughout, blog, ask questions or share pictures of your shrine! Use the posting bar to get started.
To get to the Urban retreat site from any other space on the site, click on your name (at the top right of any page) and choose ‘my groups’. The Urban Retreat 2015 will be listed there.
Read the information on the about page first to get the most out of the Urban Retreat and know which resources are available where.
Below is an example of activities from the first page, you can find the rest online.
