We now have a new fold away shrine and recited the dedication ceremony in honour of the occasion. Metka adorned the shrine beautifully which added to the special nature of the moment.
Buddhists are noted for celebrating people's qualities at every opportunity - it is a form of giving which is the bedrock of a Buddhist life focused on giving up self for other and really enjoyable too. At 30th February sangha evening we are gathering to celebrate Padmacandra's qualities as founder of the Worthing sangha and as she makes reality her wish to step aside as 'unofficial' chairperson of the Worthing and West Sussex sangha. She is not leaving, just taking her place within the now larger team. So, if you feel inspired, bring along any readings, poetry, offerings or memories to share to celebrate a time of transition for our lovely Sangha as a whole, and to say thank you to Padmacandra. She writes "I see this as a celebration of the Worthing Sangha as a whole, rejoicing in how we have developed and matured over the last 9 years"
We now have a larger team who will support sangha activity. At the moment this consists of Abhayadeva, Metka, Padmacandra and Vimokshaja. We welcome any interest in helping to shape and take the sangha forward so do let us have your views and offers of support.
