"The Buddha was born as we are born. What the Buddha overcame we too can overcome." This week we take our first step onto the Buddha's eightfold path to liberation from greed, hatred and delusion and to peace, creativity and compassion. What did the Buddha mean by vision? Do we need 'imagination to find liberation? What do perfect and right view mean? Is it necessary to have a vision? There will be a short talk and then Helen, Jason and Metka have kindly offered to say something about vision in their lives. And on the way maybe we will get a sense of what part vision already plays in our lives.
See our calendar pages to check what's happening each week. The two following weeks will explore the Buddha's vision through ideas and images.
There is an acronym for the noble eightfold path which might be helpful. VESALEAS Vision, Emotion, Speech, Action, Livelihood, Effort, Awareness, Samadhi (concentration).
Finally, just a reminder that the talks for the next few months will be based on Sangharakshita's book 'The Noble Eightfold Path - Buddhist wisdom for today' which can be bought online from Windhorse Publications for £10.99
Hope to see you there and wishing you all well.
