11 of us set out from the South coast to join with 11 people from the Southampton sangha. We spent a wonderful weekend to together at Rivendell from 9th December. For some it was their first retreat.
The subject of the weekend was building the Buddhaland. Lokabandhu (Southampton sangha) gave a very lucid talk on how we can achieve this. He is very hands on and relishing converting a building they have recently acquired as a permanent home for Triratna Buddhism in Southampton. He also understands deeply the true nature of Buddhism as a route to liberation from restricted mental states and how working practically together has the potential to help us grow as we meet and work with our mental states but also how we can exemplify and reach out to others to share the core teachings of Buddhism and to communicate its relevance to any time or culture.

Wishing you all well in the wide open vistas of consciousness.
