Last week Vimokshaja and Metka led an evening looking at images of Enlightenment. This Thursday we will be looking at "Vision" of the path and goal in terms of concepts, such as the three marks of existence (unsatisfactoriness, non-self and impermanence), and the Four Noble Truths.
We are fortunate to be able to welcome again our sometime visiting speaker Ruchiraketu to introduce us to and explore these concepts. I always recommend these evenings with Ruchiraketu* which many of us have found inspiring and rich.
Although we are looking at the Eightfold Path as a series in the class this year, we aim for each class to stands on its own, so all are welcome to come along even if you are new or not able to come every week.
*(Ruchiraketu has over 30 years experience of practising and teaching meditation, mindfulness, and related disciplines. He has introduced many hundreds of newcomers to meditation, and has led many workshops, courses, and retreats for advanced practitioners and teachers. For twelve years he was Chair of the Cambridge Buddhist Centre, shaping the programme of spiritual development for the local Buddhist community. Since 2004 he has specialised in teaching secular mindfulness-based courses and has led over 30 MBSR courses to date. He currently teaches the ‘Buddhist Background to Mindfulness’ module of the Master’s degree programme at Bangor University).
